2026 Umpire Information

Become an Umpire

BECOME A SCOTTS VALLEY LITTLE LEAGUE UMPIRE!

We are excited to share details about our upcoming District 39 Umpire Clinics, which will be held over the next several weeks. These clinics are a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about umpiring, improving their knowledge of the game, or getting involved in a meaningful way within our league.

We are always looking for new umpires—both youth and adults. No prior umpiring experience is required. Training is provided, and umpiring is a fantastic way to:
    *Support our players and teams
*Learn the rules and mechanics of the game
    *Build confidence and leadership skills
*Stay involved on the field during the season
*Earn some extra spending money! - Paid and volunteer opportunities.

Clinic Highlights
*Multiple in-person mechanics clinics (plate and bases)
    *A full-day clinic for ages 16+
    *Shorter youth-friendly clinics (adults welcome)
*Online rules clinics open to everyone, including parents and coaches

Whether you’re interested in becoming an umpire, helping occasionally, or simply want a better understanding of the rules, these clinics are a great resource.

How to Register or Ask Questions
If you’d like to attend a clinic or have any questions, please contact me directly by email. I’m happy to help you determine which clinic is the best fit.

Thank you for supporting our league and helping make the season a success. We hope to see many of you on the field!

Best regards,

Bat Standard

Testing and evaluating of youth baseball bats has evolved into a science. So much so that the standard has also evolved to where USA Baseball, the national governing body for the sport of baseball in the United States, adopted a new method for measuring bat performance in the testing of youth bats that went into effect on January 1, 2018. The new USA Baseball bat standard (USABat), was developed by a USA Baseball committee of scientific experts.
